Question 53349
Find the measures of the three angles of a triangle if the largest is 14 degrees less than three times the smallest, and the other angle is 4 degrees more than the smallest.
---------------
Let the smallest have measure "x".
Then the largest measure is "3x-14"
The 3rd angle has measure "x+4"
EQUATION:
The sum of the angles is 180
x+3x-14+x+4=180
5x-10=180
5x=190
x=38 degrees (measure of smallest)
3x-14=100 degrees (measure of largest)
x+4=42 degrees (3rd angle measure)
