Question 546146
Treat this exactly like you would an equation when solving!
Whatever you do to one side of the inequality, you have to do to the other.
{{{3k+5>11}}} given
{{{3k>6}}}subtract 5 from both sides
{{{k>2}}} divide both sides by 3
The solution is {{{k>2}}}
So any number greater than 2 is a solution. ie 2.1, 2.7, 4, 100, 7529, etc.
If at any point we had multiplied or divided both sides by a negative number,
then we would have needed to change the direction of the inequality sign.
I hope this helps! :)
