Question 545810
The easiest way to solve this equation,
is to multiply the entire equation by the least common denominator.
In this case it is 8:
{{{x/2+1/4=5/8}}} given
{{{8x/2+8*1/4=8*5/8}}} multiplied both sides by 8
{{{4x+2=5}}} simplified
{{{4x=3}}}subtracted 2 from both sides
{{{x=3/4}}} answer
You could also use the least common denominator to combine all the fractions, but it takes a LOT more time.
It's good to know both ways to do it though.
I hope this helps! :)
