Question 53233
I do not understand the process I am told k=2 but how did that come to be?
when I try to use other sites, the computer tells me variables can not be used as an exponent Thank you -Comicruler
solve for k
x^k-12=(x^2)^-k-3

PLEASE TYPE PROBLEM PROPERLY USING BRACKETS..THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE
X^(K-12) = {(X^2)}^(-K-3)=X^(-2K-6)
SINCE BASES ARE SAME POWERS ARE EQUAL
K-12 =-2K-6
2K+K=12-6
3K = 6
K=2
