Question 540940
f(x) and g(x) and (f of g) functions just confuse me.
Please help me solve this equation: Given the functions f(x)=(2x)/(x-3)
and g(x)=x-2 find a formula, in simplest form, for f०g(x).

f(x)=2x/(x-3) and g(x)=x-2 find a formula, in simplest form, for (f०g)(x).
<pre>
f&#2406;g(x) means to substitute the right side of g(x) for x in the right side of f(x)

f(x) = {{{2x/(x-3)}}},  g(x) = x-2

Substitute the right side of g(x), which is (x-2),
for x in the right side of f(x).

f&#2406;g(x) = {{{2(x-2)/((x-2)-3)}}}

Then simplify:

f&#2406;g(x) = {{{2(x-2)/(x-2-3)}}}

f&#2406;g(x) = {{{2(x-2)/(x-5)}}}
