Question 539767
The volume in cubic centimeters is {{{72*pi}}}?
The volume of a cylinder is equal to the are of its base times the height.
The area of a circle of radius r is {{{A=pi*r^2}}} (Remember Apple pies are square, even if you think they're usually round).
Since the height of this cylinder is also r,
{{{Volume = (pi*r^2)r=pi*r^3}}}
If {{{Volume = 72*pi=pi*r^3}}} then
{{{r^3=72}}} and {{{r=root(3,72)=root(3,8*9)=root(3,8)*root(3,9)=2*root(3,9)}}}
My calculator says that's about 4.16 cm.
