Question 535638
If one has already has already driven one mile at 30 mph, how fast must one drive the second mile so that the average speed for the trip equals 60 mph
:
this is not possible, the time used for the 1st mile, would be the time required to run 2 mi,
:
The equation for this: time = dist/speed, x = speed required to accomplish this
{{{1/30}}} + {{{1/x}}} = {{{2/60}}}
multiply by 60x, results
2x + 60 = 2x; obviously, not possible
