Question 528884
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

The total of *[tex \Large x] and *[tex \Large 4]:  *[tex \Large x\ +\ 4]

The product of *[tex \Large 7] and << stuff >> is just *[tex \Large 7] times << stuff >>.

In this case, the << stuff >> is *[tex \Large x\ +\ 4], so:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 7(x\ +\ 4)]

The parentheses are necessary because you want to make sure you are multiplying the *[tex \Large 7] times all parts of the << stuff >>.
