3(x-0.87)-2x = 4.98
3x-2.41-2x = 4.98
x-2.41 = 4.98
x = 7.39

Step 1.  Distrubute the 3 into (x-0.87)
Step 2.  3x minus 2x
Step 3.  Add 2.41 to both sides
