Question 527578
Help me with these please. I don't understand the concept.
I need to simplify each number unsing the imaginary number i.
1. sqrt -72
2.sqrt -11/25
3.sqrt 3/7
**
√(-1)=i
...
1. sqrt -72=√72*√(-1)=√72i≈8.48i
2.sqrt -11/25=√(11/25)*√(-1)=√(11/25)i≈.66i
3.sqrt 3/7=√(3/7)≈.65
..
note: for a real solution, the number inside the radical, the radican, must≥0
If the radican is<0, you have an imaginary solution expressed with i.
For a sqrt by itself, only the positive root is used.
In an equation, however, both the positive and negative roots are used in the calculations.
