Question 519885
i dont understand how to write an equation for the line that is parallel to
y=(4/3)x-7 ; and contains given point, (7,2).
-----
The given line has a slope of m = 4/3
----
Any line parallel to it must have slope = 4/3.
--------
Form of the Equation:
y = mx + b
----
You know y = 2 when x = 7 and the slope is 4/3.
Solve for "b":
2 = (4/3)*7 + b
2 = 38/3 + b
b = 6/3-38/3
---
b = -32/3
----
Equation:
y = (4/3)x -(32/3)
