Question 517782
How to I find the surface area and volume of a cylinder with an inverted half sphere? (picture a slurpy cup with the lid top inside the cup instead of the sphere visible to the naked eye.) I have tried to find the areas and volumes of both the sphere and the cylinder seperately however am unsure of the correct solution due to the inverted sphere into the cylinder. the base is 4 cm and the height is 2.5 cm, these are the only two dimensions given.
---------------
The lateral SA of a cylinder = {{{2*pi*r*h}}} not the top and bottom.
---------
For a sphere, it's {{{4*pi*r^2}}} the whole sphere.
Use 1/2 of that.
---------
I think it's the sum of those parts.
------
For volume, the cylinder = {{{pi*r^2*h}}}
1/2 of the sphere = {{{2*pi*r^3/3}}}
It's the difference of those.
