Question 513202
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

A number: *[tex \Large x]

"the difference of a number decreased by 5" is redundant. Sort of like saying "PIN number" which would mean "Personal Identification Number number" Either say: "The difference of a number and 5" or "a number decreased by 5". Either way: *[tex \Large x\ -\ 5]. "2 times the difference..." *[tex \Large 2(x\ -\ 5)]. "Is" means "=" so:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 2(x\ -\ 5)\ =\ 14]

John
*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
