Question 490908
one half my age is 10 years more than one third my age. How old am I

x = your age

x/2 = x/3 + 10 {half your age equals one-third your age + 10}
6[x/2 = x/3 + 10] {multiplied entire equation by LCD, 6]
6(x/2) = 6(x/3) + 6(10) {multiplied each term by 6}
3x = 2x + 60 {cancelled and multiplied what's left}
x = 60 {subtracted 2x from both sides}

your age is 60
