Question 480485
I was helping another user over email, and was ask this question. I am not certain of the answer and do not want to give any mis-information.

(-a^2  + b^2)(a^2  +  b^2)

If you could help, it would be appreciated.

Cleomenius.

{{{(-a^2  + b^2)(a^2  +  b^2)}}} --- Multiply using the FOIL method

F (first): {{{-a^2 * a^2}}} = {{{- a^4}}}

O (outer): {{{-a^2 * b^2}}} = {{{- a^2b^2}}}

I (inner): {{{b^2 * a^2}}} = {{{+ a^2b^2}}}

L (last): {{{b^2 * b^2}}} = {{{+ b^4}}}

Putting them together, we get: {{{- a^4 - a^2b^2 + a^2b^2 + b^4}}} ---- {{{highlight_green(- a^4 + b^4)}}}
