Question 480281
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

Set the given function equal to 300 and solve the resulting quadratic equation. The trouble is that you have a profit function that doesn't work. Perhaps you have written it incorrectly -- for example *[tex \Large p(x)\ =\ -5x^2\ +\ 40x\ +\ 300] -- note the positive sign on the constant term -- has two real solutions. For the function given, the company loses money (negative profit) regardless of the value of *[tex \Large x].

John
*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
