Question 473139
(x+4)/(x^2+6x+9) - 1/(x^2-9) i dont get it because it says the sum but has a minus sign here are the options:
----------------
(x+4)/(x+3)^2 - 1/[(x-3)(x+3)]
---
least common denominator: (x-3)(x+3)^2
---
Rewrite each fraction with the lcd as its denominator:
---
[(x+4)(x-3)]/lcd - (x+3)/lcd
---
Combine the numerators over the lcd:
[x^2+x-12-x-3]/lcd
----
= [x^2-15]/[(x-3)(x+3)^2]
