Question 48749
How do I find an equation of a parabola with a given vertex and y intercept. I need it in the form y=ax^2+bx+c form.
I just need to know the proper steps to do it. Any ideas?
-----------------
Use the vertex for of a parabola:
(x-h)^2 = 4p(y-k)
You have h and k from the given vertex.
You have x and y from the y=intercept.
You can solve for "p".
Then you can solve that equation for "y".
