Hi,
equation of a line perpendicular to a line that has a slope of -1/1
 New Line:  m = 1
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
   y = 1*x + b  |passing through (-3,9)
   9 = -3 +b
  12 = b
Line is:  y = x + 12
