Question 466665
"Find the perimeter and area of a right triangle if the shortest side is 20m. and the longest side is 29m."

In a right triangle the longest side is the hypotenuse.

Pythagorean Theorem is a² + b² = c²
a and b are the legs, c is the hypotenuse

20² + b² = 29² {substituted given information into the pythagorean theorem}
400 + b² = 841 {squared 20 and 29}
b² = 441 {subtracted 400 from both sides}
b = 21 {took square root of both sides}

The triangle has sides of 20m, 21m, and 29m

Perimeter of the triangle
= 20 + 21 + 29
= 70 m
