<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

Convert each of the percentages to a decimal (move the decimal point 2 places left and drop the percent sign). Then multiply the decimal fraction times 8 centimeters to get the measure of the bar representing that percentage. I presume x% is what is left after accounting for the 10, 30, 12, and 27 percent. Add the given percentages and subtract the sum from 100. The result is the value of x.
