Given the digits 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5:


If the second digit is two times the first, then the second digit must be an even number.  Only 2 and 4 are even from the list of givens, hence the first two digits are either 12 or 24.


Consider the first condition:  the sum of the first two digits is the third digit.  If the first two digits are 24, their sum is 6 which is not a choice.  24 is then eliminated as possibility and we are forced to conclude that the first two digits are 12, and that makes the first three digits 123.


Considering the third condition that the second half of the fourth, the forth digit must be two times two is four.  So far, 1234.


Finally, the last condition says the fifth digit is the sum of the first and fourth.  1 plus 4 is 5, hence the entire number is 12345.
