Let *[tex \Large x] represent one of the numbers.  Let *[tex \Large y] represent the other number.  Then:


*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x\ =\ y\ +\ 6]


*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 5x\ =\ 4y\ -\ 7]


Solve the system.  Hint:  it is already set up to solve by substitution.
