Question 47445
log4 (x - 2) + log4 (x - 2) = 1

two logs added is really just one log with multiplied terms:
log4 ((x - 2)(x - 2)) = 1

Now we raise both side to base 4 to remove the log term:
{{{ (x - 2)(x - 2) = 4^1 }}}

{{{ x^2 - 4x + 4 = 4 }}}
{{{ x^2 - 4x = 0 }}}
x(x-4) = 0

so either x=0 or x-4=0
so we have x=0 or x=4

Logs are fairly straight forward.... just learn the 3 basic laws and apply them properly, as i have done above.
