Question 451383
If pipe A is twice as big as pipe B, then it is safe to assume that pipe B takes twice as long as pipe A to fill the pool. Therefore:
Pipe A + Pipe B=1/8 pool per hour
1/t+1/2t=1/8
8+4=t
t=12
Pipe A takes 12 hours to fill the pool alone; pipe B takes 24 hours to fill the pool alone..
