Question 448542
What to do when it comes to radical expressions, for example like I know the part you divide but I dont understand where you add the radical of sdding expressions yea i need a whole lot of help with that for example, 4(square root) times 6
 (square root) ?
:
you can only add and subtract radicals, if they are like terms
:
You can: {{{3sqrt(3)}}} + {{{4sqrt(3)}}} = {{{7sqrt(3)}}} or {{{5sqrt(11)}}} - {{{3sqrt(11)}}} = {{{2sqrt(11)}}}
:
You cannot: {{{3sqrt(7)}}} + {{{4sqrt(3)}}}
:
:
You can multiply and divide unlike radicals
{{{sqrt(4)}}} * {{{sqrt(6)}}} = {{{sqrt(4*6)}}} = {{{sqrt(24)}}}
or
{{{(sqrt(6))/(sqrt(2))}}} = {{{sqrt(6/2)}}} = {{{sqrt(3)}}}
