Question 448531
Is the quotient of two irrational numbers always an irrational number?
<pre>
No
</pre>
why not?
<pre>
Because {{{2pi}}} is irrational and {{{3pi}}} is irrational;
however when you form their quotient {{{2pi/(3pi)}}} the {{{pi}}}'s
cancel {{{(2cross(pi))/(3cross(pi))}}} you get {{{2/3}}} so it is
rational.
</pre>
Show worked out examples to support your reply.
<pre>
{{{(2sqrt(3))/(3sqrt(3))=2cross(sqrt(3))/3cross(sqrt(3))=2/3}}}

{{{(7sqrt(5))/(8sqrt(5))=7cross(sqrt(5))/8cross(sqrt(5))=7/8}}}

You can make up bunches like this.
