Question 444839
Can someone please show me how to figure this:
In a poll of 650 randomly selected high school seniors, 475 plan to attend college for at least 2 years.
A: Find the sample proportion. -- I got about 73%
-------
B: Find the margin of error.
E = z*sqrt[pq/n]
E = z*sqrt[0.73*0.27/650]
---
Note: The z-value depends on factors you have not posted.
--------------------------------

C: Determine the sample size that produces a margin of error of +-6%.-- I also don't understand how to do this.
---
n = [z/E]^2(pq)
z depends on the level of confidence.
E = 0.06
p = 1/2 = q because you have no information that they are otherwise.
