Question 439719
let f(x)= 3x-1 and g(x)= x^2+1. Evaluate (f*g)(-1)
Here is what I did so far before getting stuck:
-----
1st determine f*g:
f*g = (3x-1)(x^2+1) = 3x^3-x^2+3x-1
---
2nd evaluate at x=-1
(f*g)(-1) = 3(-1)^3-(-1)^2+3(-1)-1
= 3*-1 - 1 -3 -1
---
= -8
