Question 433613
Hello,
The formula is:
{{{x = (-b +- sqrt( b^2-4*a*c ))/(2*a) }}}
Now plug in the numbers from 6x^2 +3x -18=0 and we get:
{{{x = (-3 +- sqrt( 3^2-4*6*-18 ))/(2*6) }}}
rewrite this as:
-3+- sqrt 441/(12)
This can be rewritten as:
-3+-21/12 so the answers are:
-2 and
1 1/2
Make sense?
