Question 432487

A square prism with a base area of {{{A=49 ft^2}}} and a height of {{{h=2 ft}}} less than the base edge length {{{a}}}.

first use {{{A=49 ft^2}}} to find the base edge length {{{a}}}

{{{a^2=49 ft^2}}}

{{{a=sqrt(49 ft^2)}}}

{{{a=7 ft}}}....now find {{{h}}}

{{{h=2 ft}}} less than the base edge length {{{a}}}; so, {{{h=7ft - 2ft=5ft}}}

now find a volume which is

{{{V=A*h}}}

{{{V=49 ft^2*5ft}}}

{{{V=245 ft^3}}}
