Question 430697
How can I solve x^2-12x=-36 by factoring?
So far This is the work I have accomplished:
X^2-12x=-36. Stating the original problem
X^2-12x+36=0 Add 36 to each side
(x-6)(x-6). Factoring
But then I get confused.
Can you help?
.
I'd say you got it right.
You can check your work by doing the multiplication:
(x-6)(x-6)=x^2 -6x -6x + 36
Collecting like terms
(x-6)(x-6) = x^2 -12x + 36
.
