Question 45002
I would start by listing the square numbers:
1
2
4
9
16
25
36
49
By adding consecutive squares together, I can now see that 85=36+49.
The square roots of 36 and 49 are 6 and 7 respectively, so the two positive integers you are looking for are 6 and 7.
I hope this helps.
P.S. I am trying to start up my own homework help website. I would be extremely grateful if you would e-mail me some feedback on the help you received to adam.chapman@student.manchester.ac.uk
