That's correct.  If your having trouble understanding logarithms, then maybe thinking of it this way will help..

When you have log5(1/5), this means ... what do I have to raise 5 to in order to obtain 1/5.  In this case you have to raise 5 to the -1 power in order to get 1/5.

Another example is log2(8), this means ... what do I have to raise 2 to in order to obtain 8.  I have to raise it to 3.  So, the equation is the following,

log2(8) = 3
