Question 44671
Let z be a standard normal random variable. Determine the value of c such that
p(1.05_<z_<c)=0.1246

Draw the normal curve and draw a vertical line at z=1.05.
Draw a vertical line at z=0
1st: Find the area between z=0 and z=1.05
I get 0.3531
2nd: Add the area 0.1246 to get 0.4777
3rd: Use your z-chart to find the z value
corresponding to an area of 0.4777 to the
right of z=0.
I get z=2.008
You could also use InVNorm(0.9777) if you
have a TI calculator.
