Question 44310
<pre><font size = 4><b>Could you please help me. In Marbles-R-Us they sell marbles
in boxes. Zeeshan buys 9 bags, each containing q marbles. On
the way home he plays Mark and wins 9 more marbles. What is
the expression for this? Thank you.

Each of the 9 bags contains q marbles, so Zeeshan leaves the
Marbles-R-Us store carrying

        9q

marbles.

He then plays Mark and wins 9 more marbles. So we add 9 to
9q and get

       9q + 9

That will do for an answer. Maybe your teacher wants you to
use the distributive law in reverse to get

       9(q + 1)

However 9q + 9 will do.
