I corrected your category selection. Systems of Equations that are Not Linear.

Why would you want to remove one of the *[tex \Large x^2] terms? There are two of them, so add them together: *[tex \Large 2x^2]

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 2x^2\ +\ 6x\ -\ 8\ =\ 0]

Multiply by *[tex \Large \frac{1}{2}]

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x^2\ +\ 3x\ -\ 4\ =\ 0]

Which is a factorable quadratic equation.

John
*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
