Hi
Given the quadratic function f(x) = x^2 – 6x + 9, find a value of x such that f(x) = 25.
f(x) = x^2 – 6x + 9
x^2 - 6x + 9 = 25
(x-3)^2 -9 + 9 = 25    |completing the square
 (x-3)^2 = 25
  (x-3) = ± 5
   x = 3 ± 5
  x = 8 and x = -2

CHECKING our Answer(s)***
x^2 - 6x + 9 = 25
 64 - 48 + 9 = 25
 4 + 12 + 9 = 25
