Question 407524
You CANNOT divide by zero. So this means that the denominator {{{x^2-9}}} CANNOT be equal to zero. So if {{{x^2-9}}} were zero, then {{{x^2-9=0}}} and we'd find that {{{x=3}}} or {{{x=-3}}}.

So if {{{x=3}}} or {{{x=-3}}}, then the denominator is zero. This is not allowed. So we must make the restrictions that x cannot equal 3 or x cannot equal -3.
