Question 401150
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

This is exactly the same problem as:

Find a linear function that has a slope of 5.5 and which graph contains the point (51, 2280.5). Then evaluate *[tex \Large f(25)]

Use the point-slope form of an equation of a line:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ y\ -\ y_1\ =\ m(x\ -\ x_1) ]

where *[tex \Large \left(x_1,y_1\right)] are the coordinates of the given point and *[tex \Large m] is the given/calculated slope.

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ y\ -\ 2280.5\ =\ 5.5(x\ -\ 51)]

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ f(x)\ =\ 5.5(x\ -\ 51)\ +\ 2280.5]

You really don't have to do any more to this for the purposes of the problem, but go ahead and simplify it as pleases you.

Finally, evaluate:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ f(25)\ =\ 5.5(25\ -\ 51)\ +\ 2280.5]

*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
