Question 398424
Hello,
Let's get rid of the fractions x+1/4 = 1/6 + 2-x/3 by multiply this by 12 to get (Note: I'm assuming x & 2 are by themselves and not part of the numerator):
12x + 3 = 2 + 24 - 4x
Add 4x and subtract 3 from both sides:
16x=23
Divide by 16 to get:
x=23/16

(if they are part of the numerator then we do this:)
Multiply by 12:
3(x+1) = 2 + 4(2-x)
Rewritten as:
3x+3=2+8-4x
Add 4x and subtract 3 to get:
7x=7
x=1
Make sense?
