Question 396918
{{{ln(5x^3y^2)}}}
"Expand" is a vague term. I am guessing at its meaning.<br>
First we can use the property of logarithm, {{{log(a, (p*q)) = log(a, (p)) + log(a, (q))}}}, rewrite your logarithm of a product as the sum of the logarithms of each factor:
{{{ln(5)+ln(x^3)+ln(y^2)}}}
Next we can use another property of logarithms, {{{log(a, (p^q)) = q*log(a, (p))}}}, to move the exponents of the last two logarithms out in front of themselves:
{{{ln(5)+3*ln(x)+2*ln(y)}}}
This, I guess, is what is meant as "expanded".
