Question 396360
y-4=(x-5) using the point-slope form Is the slope in that problem 1/1 or undefined?
---
The slope is "1".
-------
Written that way it kind of looks like y-4=1(x-5). Just not quite sure what the overall answer is. I need to graph the equation, so knowing that if the slope is 1/1 or undefined makes a big difference.
---
It makes an enormous difference.
A slope of 1/1 means y increases 1 when x increases 1.
---
A undefined slope means y increases an indefinite amount.
The graph is a vertical line.
==============================
Graph y-4 = 1(x-5)
y - 4 = x-5
y = x-1
---
If x = 0, y = -1 giving you point (0,-1)
----
If x = 2, y = 1 giving you point (2,1)
=======
{{{graph(400,300,-10,10,-10,10,x-1)}}}
