Question 393213
Let {{{x}}} = the unknown number
It's square is {{{x^2}}}
given:
{{{4x^2 - x = 3}}}
{{{4x^2 - x - 3 = 0}}}
Using quadratic formula:
 {{{x = (-(-1) +- sqrt( (-1)^2-4*4*(-3) ))/(2*4) }}}
 {{{x = ( 1 +- sqrt( 1 + 48 )) / 8 }}}
 {{{x = ( 1 + 7) / 8 }}}
{{{x = 1}}}
and, also:
{{{x = (1 - 7)/8}}}
{{{x = -3/4}}}
The answer has to be 1, since -3/4 is not a whole number
