Question 392972
I'm assuming that the equation is {{{g-2/5=g+4/7}}}

{{{g-2/5=g+4/7}}} Start with the given equation.

{{{35(g-2/cross(5))=35(g+4/cross(7))}}} Multiply both sides by the LCD {{{35}}} to clear any fractions.

{{{35g-14=35g+20}}} Distribute and multiply.

{{{35g=35g+20+14}}} Add {{{14}}} to both sides.

{{{35g-35g=20+14}}} Subtract {{{35g}}} from both sides.

{{{0g=20+14}}} Combine like terms on the left side.

{{{0g=34}}} Combine like terms on the right side.

{{{0=34}}} Simplify.

Since this equation is <font size=4><b>never</b></font> true for any g value, this means that there are no solutions.
