Question 390184
<font face=”Garamond” size=”+2”>

I'm going to go out on a limb and presume that you meant "= 0" (zero) rather than "= o" (the letter o) because, as written, the problem has no solution. I'm also going to presume that you meant to say "What is the solution of the quadratic equation..." since "quadretic" is not a word, and the equation is quadratic, not the solutions.

*[tex \LARGE\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 3x^2\ -\ 48\ =\ 0]

Add 48 to both sides:

*[tex \LARGE\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 3x^2\ =\ 48]

Multiply both sides by *[tex \Large \frac{1}{3}]:

*[tex \LARGE\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x^2\ =\ 16]

Take the square root of both sides, remembering to consider both the positive and negative roots:

*[tex \LARGE\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x\ =\ \pm\4]

Giving us two solutions as is expected for a quadratic equation.

*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
