Yes...what that shows you is that exponentiating to the base b and taking the log to the base b (where b>0) are inverse operations...that is, they undo each other...
If you take the log of both sides you get
b ^ log_b (x) = x
log_b(b ^ log_b (x)) = log_b (x)
log_b (x) = log_b (x)
