Question 387929
I am trying to find the y-intercepts of {{{ x+2=(y+1)^2 }}} all I have been able to figure out is that the vertex is (-2,-1), if you could also show me how it is done that would be great. Thank you.
---
x+2=(y+1)^2
----
Let x = 0,then solve for "Y":
(y+1)^2 = 2
y+1 = +sqrt(2) or y+1 = -sqrt(2)
---
y = -1+sqrt(2) or y = -1-sqrt(2)
----
Those are the y-intercepts of the parabola.
