Question 386622
OK
(2+3i)/(1-5i)
We first multiply both the numerator and the denominator by the conjugate of (1-5i) which is (1+5i) and this will get rid of the complex number in the denominator.
((2+3i)(1+5i))/((1-5i)(1+5i)) when we carry out the multiplications, we get:
(2+10i+3i+15i^2)/(1-25i^2) now we know that i^2=-1, so:
(-13+13i)/26 or
13(-1+i)/26=(-1+i)/2

Hope this helps---ptaylor
