Question 381217

{{{q^3-q^2+2q-2}}} Start with the given expression

{{{(q^3-q^2)+(2q-2)}}} Group like terms

{{{q^2(q-1)+2(q-1)}}} Factor out the GCF {{{q^2}}} out of the first group. Factor out the GCF {{{2}}} out of the second group

{{{(q^2+2)(q-1)}}} Since we have the common term {{{q-1}}}, we can combine like terms

So {{{q^3-q^2+2q-2}}} factors to {{{(q^2+2)(q-1)}}}

In other words, {{{q^3-q^2+2q-2=(q^2+2)(q-1)}}}
